C 200
C 200 System consisting of:

  • Basic unit ( measuring cell ) C 200
  • Decomposition vessel C 5010
  • Oxygen station C 248
  • Consumables for installation and calibration

Standardised, space-saving low cost combustion calorimeter, suitable for the determination of calorific values of liquid and solid samples.
Predestined for learning and teaching purposes, i.e. especially for schools, technical colleges, universities, practical courses etc. Also suitable for laboratories with a low number of analyses.

The calorific value is measured according to DIN 51900, ISO 1928; ASTM D240, ASTM D4809, ASTM D5865, ASTM D1989, ASTM D5468, ASTM E711.

Manual water and oxygen handling.

Four different test sequences, isoperibol, manual, dynamic and time-controlled, allow ideal adaptation to different tasks.

Clear, self-explanatory and easy-to-use display.

With external power supply, usable from 100 - 240 volts AC, 50/60 Hz., The operating voltage of the calorimeter is 24 VDC low voltage .

Exemplary serviceability.

In the manual operating mode (learning mode), the ignition and the end of the measurement are triggered by the operator himself.
The temperature development is displayed every minute. All calculations have to be carried out manually.
In the other three test procedures, ignition and calculation of the calorific value are carried out automatically.
The calorific value is shown on the display. Acid corrections for the calorific value and the calculation of the calorific value must be carried out manually.

The measuring procedures also differ in the measuring times:
Isoperibolic measuring time : approx. 17 minutes
Dynamic measuring time : approx. 8 minutes
Manual measuring time : approx. 17 minutes (operator-dependent)
Time-controlled measuring time : 14 minutes

The decomposition vessel C 5010 can be converted for operation with a disposable crucible (C 14).
For this purpose, the support for disposable crucibles ( C 5010.4 ) is required.

The C 200 system can also be operated with the IKA CalWin C 6040 calorimeter software.
With this control and evaluation software, the measuring process can be monitored and visualised.
Data export and further processing in Excel and/or Word etc. are also possible. (accessories)
Using the PCI 8.2 plug-in card (accessory), up to eight IKA measuring cells can be operated via a PC. Provision of a PC by the operator is required.

Scope of delivery

  • C 200
  • C 5010 Decomposition vessel, standard
  • C 248 Oxygen filling station
  • Ignation adapter
  • C 200.1 Measuring beaker 2000 ml
  • Water emptying hose

C 200 auto
The C 200 auto package allows the C 200 to be operated with a completely automated water circuit and is especially suitable for laboratories with a low number of samples.
The water circulates in a closed circuit and is kept at a constant temperature by the RC 2 basic circulation cooler.
This shortens the test preparation time for the user and leads to even better reproducible results.

The scope of delivery of the C 200 auto Package includes:

  • C 200 calorimeter measuring cell
  • C 5010 Digestion vessel
  • C 248 oxygen station
  • RC 2 basic circulation cooler
  • C 200 RC tubing set
  • Consumables for installation and calibration

The standardised and semi-automatic combustion calorimeter C 200 is used to determine the calorific values of liquid and solid samples.
The C 200 is mainly used for teaching and learning purposes at schools, technical colleges and universities.
By automating the water circuit, it is now particularly attractive for industrial laboratories with a low number of analyses.

Four different operating modes allow the user to control the measuring times as required.
Isoperibolic measurement time : approx. 17 minutes
Dynamic measuring time : approx. 8 minutes
Manual measuring time : approx. 17 minutes (operator-dependent)
Time-controlled measuring time : 14 minutes

The calorific value is measured, for example, according to DIN 51900, ISO 1928; ASTM D240, ASTM D4809, ASTM D5865, ASTM D1989, ASTM D5468, ASTM E711.

With the C 6040 CalWin, a software for device control and evaluation, available as an accessory, the measuring procedure is monitored and visualised.
In addition, the data obtained can be exported for further processing in Excel, Word, SQL, LIMS, etc.
It is also possible to operate several calorimeters simultaneously via one PC.
The PC is not included in the scope of delivery and must be provided by the user.

C 200 h
The C 200 h package is predestined for learning and teaching purposes at schools, technical colleges and universities.
Due to its semi-automatic isoperibolic measuring mode, it is also suitable for industrial laboratories with a low number of analyses.
With the standard-compliant and space-saving C 200 combustion calorimeter, the calorific values of liquid and solid samples are determined.

The scope of delivery of the C 200 h Package includes:

  • C 200 calorimeter measuring cell
  • C 5012 halogen-resistant, catalytically activated digestion vessel
  • C 200.2 conversion set for C 5012
  • C 248 oxygen station
  • Consumables for installation and calibration

The C 200 h Package is filled with water and oxygen and emptied manually.
However, with a correspondingly high analysis volume, automation of the water circuit is easily possible.
To do this, you need the separately available C 200.RC hose set and the RC 2 basic cooler.

The catalytically activated, halogen-resistant digestion vessel C 5012 was specially designed for the combustion or digestion of samples containing halogen and sulphur (> 3 %).
The material of the digestion vessel (Hastelloy) prevents corrosion of the vessel caused by samples with a high chlorine content.
The catalytic inner surface leads to higher recoveries if post-combustion analysis of halogens and sulphur is required.

Four different operating modes allow the user to control the measurement times as required.
Isoperibolic measurement time: approx. 17 minutes
Dynamic measurement time: approx. 8 minutes
Manual measuring time: approx. 17 minutes (operator-dependent)
Time-controlled measuring time: 14 minutes
