Sigma 2-7 Cyto combines the highlights of the Sigma 2-7 with state-of-the-art cytology centrifugation. In addition to the unique features of the Sigma 2-7, Sigma's cytology centrifuge features closed rotors for the preparation of thin-layer cell preparations and the ability to switch between cytology and laboratory centrifuges.

The cytology rotors allow the simultaneous processing of twelve samples for liquid-based cytology and can be exchanged within seconds due to the simple rotor change by common swing-out rotors of the Sigma 2-7. A swing out rotor for 4 x 100 ml is available, which can be equipped with a variety of adapters for different types of vessels, or an 8 x 15 ml rotor for blood tubes and conical culture tubes.

With a maximum speed of 2,000 rpm, the Sigma 2-7 Cyto is ideal for thin film cell preparation, cell harvesting and other applications requiring low speed.

Ease of use, comfort, maximum safety

The Sigma 2-7 Cyto combines cytology specific characteristics with the features of the Sigma 2-7. Sigma's cytology centrifuge is equipped with a clearly structured, easy-to-read display at a perfect tilt angle and large buttons. The easy-to-understand Spincontrol Basic control unit offers a high degree of operating comfort when entering run parameters and programs. The running time of the centrifuge can be selected in seconds and can be easily seen from a distance thanks to the innovative LED running display.

The motorised lid lock is practical, as it closes automatically and makes effort unnecessary. The innovative electronics ensure maximum energy efficiency and low sensitivity to mains fluctuations. Coupled with the powerful motor, outstanding braking and acceleration times can be achieved.

Thanks to the two braking and acceleration profiles, the Sigma 2-7 Cyto is ideally equipped for centrifugation of sensitive cytology samples and cells for which a smooth start and stop is required. With these features, the Sigma 2-7 Cyto sets new standards in user-friendliness, comfort and safety.

The compactly built Sigma 2-7 Cyto saves space in the laboratory with its width of only 37.8 cm and the possibility to perform cytology applications and cell harvesting in a centrifuge. The low noise levels of 46 db(A) at maximum speed in the swing-out rotor and 38 db(A) with the cytology rotor ensure a quiet atmosphere.
