GFL Adhesive mat

The adhesive mat is used for fixing flat-bottomed vessels made of glass or plastic on trays or shaking platforms during shaking operations. After removing the white protective foil the mat can be taken out of the black plastic mold. The upper side (surface under the foil) is more adhesive than the bottom side and is to be placed on the cleaned, grease-free and dry working surface of the shaker. Press the mat slightly onto the tray using the white protective foil, thus preventing that the mat loosens when vessels are removed from the mat. An applied mat is instantly operational.

Note
The adhesive mat MUST NOT be used under humid conditions, e. g. in shaking water baths. Shaking operation, cleaning and decontamination Always use suitable protective equipment (e. g. safety gloves and goggles)

Before shaking:
Please check whether the mat and the bottom of the vessels are dry and clean. Take care that the vessels are undamaged, NEVER use damaged vessels. Ensure that the vessels tightly adhere to the mat which rests firmly on the tray or platform.

During shaking operation:
Avoid water condensation at the vessels and on the mat. Never use direct UV lighting in the working area of the mat as this will damage the polymeric structure of the mat.

At the end of shaking operation:
Remove the vessels by pushing gently against their neck and lift them off.

Cleaning:
Clean the mat with water or a mild detergent and a sponge. The full adhesive power is restored as soon as the mat is dry.

Decontamination:
The mat must neither be decontaminated through direct UV lighting with UV-254 nm nor by means of autoclaving. Desinfection is possible using Ethanol 70%, however, reducing the lifetime of the mat as Ethanol is a solvent.

The adhesive mat is suitable for all GFL shaker models 3005 - 3020 and shaking incubators 3031 - 3033 (and also for applications with external devices).
