Buy laboratory furnaces online: find the right furnace type
Are you not sure which furnace model is right for you? We will be happy to support you with individual advice. Laboratory furnaces are available in various designs and models, depending on the field of application.
Different construction materials, heating elements, technology and methods of heat treatment, furnace temperature and furnace volume describe the laboratory furnaces. We divide the offered furnace types in our assortment into:
- Elevator furnaces,
- High temperature furnaces
- chamber and muffle furnaces,
- Tube furnaces,
- drying ovens,
- incineration furnaces,
- weighing furnaces,
- annealing and curing furnaces.
We only stock models that have been tried and tested in practice and have been developed for demanding laboratory applications and diverse production processes . But which laboratory furnace is the right one for your application? Below you will find information on some laboratory furnace types.
The elevator furnace
This oven consists of an oven chamber and a movable oven floor, which is used for loading and unloading. This ensures low wear and tear as well as comfort in operation and also during maintenance. No other appliance of the same size ensures a comparable balance of temperature. Here, all sides of the oven chamber can be heated without any special effort.
Moreover, the U-shaped heating elements can be removed downwards. This reduces not only the number but also the size of the openings and holes in the oven insulation. This minimises possible weak points and significantly reduces assembly times.
The high-temperature chamber kiln
High-temperature chamber ovens are offered as freestanding models and tabletop models. Free-standing models are of course equipped with the highest degree of precision and comfort. These ovens have the advantage of very good temperature uniformity in the oven chamber.
Various materials in the respective equipment, offer excellent benefits. For example, the best possible atmospheric purity and the optimum final vacuum are achieved with metallic furnaces. With graphite furnaces, on the other hand, the highest temperatures can be achieved.
Typical applications for furnaces with graphite insulation are pyrolysis, sintering, silicification or graphitisation. A high-temperature chamber furnace with metallic insulation, on the other hand, is mostly used in the fields of metal injection moulding (MIM), carbon-free atmosphere, metallisation, etc.
The muffle furnace
A muffle furnace is a laboratory furnace in which the heat source is separated from the firing chamber by a heat-resistant insert. This insert is called a muffle. It is usually made of fireclay (stone-like, artificially produced, refractory material) and possibly steel.
This laboratory furnace is used when the charge is to be protected from flames or direct heating element radiation, or when the electric heating elements are to be protected from gases emanating from the charge. They are used for ashing and annealing as well as for the thermal treatment of workpieces.
The tube furnace
Modern tube furnaces are used for a wide range of applications. Some typical applications of these are, for example, gas analysis, as well as materials research, sintering and firing of ceramics or crystal growth. Furthermore, the device is used for the continuous heating of a wire, the preparation of silicone wafers, the calibration of thermocouples and thermal degradation.
The ashing furnace
One of the most common uses of laboratory furnaces is the analysis of the ashed firing residue. There are several factors to consider when selecting your ashing furnace. To find the right model, consider certain points while ordering. Some exemplary questions should be clarified before purchasing the laboratory furnace:
- Is there a specific regulation, test method or ISO/ASTM standard that must be followed?
- Is damage due to hazardous or aggressive gases during the ashing process to be expected, which could damage the furnace?
- Is sufficient air exchange ensured in the furnace so that the ashing result is promising?
Our expert advisors will discuss these and other questions with you so that together we can find the best appliance for your success.
The drying cabinet - oven
This device is used to dehumidify an object, mostly by dehumidifying the air, using hygroscopic materials, i.e. materials that absorb (air) moisture. With their maximum working temperature of up to 300 °C and forced air circulation, the drying ovens achieve excellent temperature uniformity. They can be used for a wide range of tasks such as drying, sterilising or hot storage.
The high-temperature drying oven
The units with air circulation are characterised in particular by their very good temperature uniformity. This makes them ideal for processes such as cooling, crystallisation, preheating, curing, but also for numerous processes in toolmaking.
Thanks to the modular design, the high-temperature drying ovens can be adapted with useful accessories to the individual process requirements for your area and for high temperatures.
Quality laboratory oven accessories for your needs
There is always the possibility of upgrading your oven and thus adding value. Here, too, the ProfiLab24 online catalogue offers numerous choices.
For example, you can choose a temperature selector limiter with adjustable cut-off temperature as overtemperature protection. A manual or automatic exhaust system can be useful for your area of application, as it diverts the exhaust gases so that no pollutants enter the room. It is also possible to upgrade to a gas supply system . With this, the various gases are admitted into the laboratory furnace in a controlled manner.
Furthermore, we are happy to offer you the possibility of exchanging or adding individual parts. Depending on the model of the laboratory furnaces offered, you can order different components as accessories for your selected unit. Please contact our technical advisors. We will be happy to assist you with the selection of base plates, collecting trays, charging tongs, heat protection gloves or various regulating and control elements.
