The correct choice of container and vessel material depends on their intended use in the laboratory and the contents. Compared with many other materials, glass laboratory vessels & laboratory containers exhibit a must higher resistance to heat, water, acids, alkalis, chemicals or salt solutions. Transparent laboratory glass mainly consists of simple soda-lime glass or of very chemical and temperature-resistant borosilicate glass. In turn, laboratory containers and laboratory vessels made of plastic are lighter and more resistant to breakage, but are not always scratch-proof or dimensionally stable and are more sensitive to many chemicals, acids and alkalis. Furthermore, plastic vessels are often flammable. Stainless steel safety vessels & and laboratory containers are unbreakable and resistant to nearly all media such as solvents, acids and most chemicals, and, thanks to their polished surface, they are particularly easy to clean.
