Laboratory Rotors
Manufacturer for Rotors
Powerful rotor types for many applications
Rotors in centrifuges are used to separate substances based on different densities in industry as well as in various laboratories. The separation of the substances creates layers which sediment at different rates. This sedimentation behaviour can be influenced depending on the type of rotor. There are various types of centrifuge rotors for different areas of application: Laboratory centrifuges and industrial centrifuges, rotor-based processes as well as decanter centrifuge complete systems.
In addition to separating liquids, centrifuges are also used in the laboratory to separate solids from liquids. Here you use centrifuge tubes for the application of the rotors, as these have a thick wall thickness and are therefore more durable than test tubes. The differences between swing-out rotors and fixed-angle rotors lie mainly in the handling of the centrifuge. In our assortment we have rotors from the following manufacturers available for you:
Fixed angle rotors for optimal results
The fixed-angle rotor, for example, is suitable for separating liquids and solids. We have looked at the different types of centrifugation for you, so you can get a brief overview of the different rotors here.
In fixed-angle rotors, the sample tubes are at a fixed angle to the rotor axis; in swing-out rotors, the tubes are suspended in holders, where they align themselves with gravity. Fixed-angle rotors are therefore stationary and do not move. Swing-out rotors swing out with their buckets depending on the rotations of the device.
Rotors as ideal centrifuge accessories
The first centrifuges had rigid rotors and had to be moved for each experiment. This was very time-consuming and error-prone. Modern centrifuges have flexible rotors that can be used for different experiments. This is a great advantage as it makes the work much easier and saves time.
Our high-quality rotors are designed for a wide range of runs, at the maximum permissible speeds. As a component of the centrifuges, you will find various rotor types as accessories in our online catalogue, depending on the model and manufacturer.
