more information
Laboratory thermostats - areas of application & manufacturers
Thermostats are commonly used in a wide range of applications for temperature control, heating or cooling liquids, appliances and machines, for process control and metrology. The laboratory thermostats we sell are ideal for routine work and normal activities in labs as well as in the fields of research, technology and development. Our collection of laboratory thermostat and tempering devices covers products from well-known manufacturers for tempering function in basic research, substance analysis or professional installations. Our thermostat and tempering devices by the manufacturers JULABO, IKA, DITABIS, LAUDA, Heidolph or BioSan are used in college and research institutions, universities, biology, chemistry, medicinal or pharmaceutical laboratories as well as in industrial and manufacturing industries.
Lab thermostats / temperature regulators - function
Heating and/or cooling of different sample containers is the task of the thermostats provided in the laboratory. The temperature regulation is a control device by means of which the temperature sensor causes the existing temperature to be reported in relation to a certain target value and by means of an adjustment method to determine the target value. Thermostat is a tempering system that can be defined as both a temperature regulator and a temperature sensor without an adjustment tool. The temperature control circuit helps to get the defined temperature-the control parameter-to the appropriate target value and to hold it as steady as possible.
If there is a disparity between the target and the actual value of the control parameter, this is balanced by the temperature regulator. The variable that needs to be changed for this function is the modifying parameter. An adjustment to the adjusting parameter will result in a modification of the adjusting parameter by which the discrepancy is decreased or completely eliminated. The unit needed for this purpose consists of the actuator and the control part. In the case of a temperature regulation, it regulates either the heating or cooling function by means of an energy supply or consisting of an external heat supply control-as in the case of a conventional radiator.
The temperature regulator intervenes either through a change in the target value or through a disturbance, such as, for example, a change in the surrounding temperature, which is known as the disturbance variable. Every change to the disturbance variable brings about a correction of the regulating parameter. The element that compares the actual and target values and determines the value of the adjusting device is simply called a regulator. In practice regulators are often combined with sensors and control units in a tempering device or component. In addition to the temperature regulator, laboratory thermostats also have a pump and a storage vessel for a heat exchanger fluid.
Laboratory thermostats - types
Thermostats are suitable for a wide range of processes and come in different formats, sizes and types. The form of thermostat to be used in the laboratory is basically based on the appropriate temperatures, fluids, media, specimens, vessels, volumes, etc. We presently sub-dividing thermostats / tempering devices that we offer into the following categories:
Lab thermostats - accessories
Our tested and proven thermostat is distinguished by its stability and user-friendliness as well as the ability to change or incorporate individual parts. Depending on the thermostat model and the manufacturer you may order different components and thermostat accessories, such as manufacturer's and calibration licenses, tempering hoses, tempering fluids, tempering hoods, switches, connectors, block systems for specific vessels and frames, as well as many other thermostat accessories that we sell.
