A good Work and Laboratory Chair - requirements
The requirements relating to the optimum work or laboratory chair depend on how it is to be used in the office, laboratory, health service, workshop or in electrotechnology. Firstly, healthy work chairs are ergonomically designed to ensure correct posture in different sitting positions. Additionally, work chairs should be stable and tilt-proof and should also be adjustable in terms of height and, if applicable, the backrest in order to support the spine and muscles. If the work chair is fitted with castors it must be adequately protected against unintentional rolling, and if the chair has armrests for supporting the shoulder and neck the rests should also be height-adjustable and not impair activity at the workplace.
Requirements relating to laboratory chairs: work chairs in the laboratory must also meet certain hygienic and other regulations depending on the classification of the laboratory. In all cases all materials and surfaces of the laboratory chair must be washable, exhibit low-emissions and must be resistant to disinfectants. They should also be designed with a minimum of joints, be rapidly adaptable to the working conditions and thus be suitable for typical work positions in the laboratory, such as working with microscopes or pipetting at the workplace.
Work & Laboratory Chairs - models
In addition to laboratory chairs by several different manufactures, our huge range of work chairs also includes selected chairs for taking blood samples, footrests, work stools, swivel chairs, high chairs, glide chairs and other seating. The following chair types are solutions for particular requirements in laboratories, branches of industry and medicine.
Clean room chairs: a clear room chair is a special work or laboratory chair for various activities in research, development and production. The use of clean room chairs is indispensable in many facilities where avoidance of contamination of the products or technologies by particles is vital. Because of its special design and materials, a sterile clean room chair prevents inadmissible particle emission into the room air. Clean room chairs are used in biotechnological, pharmaceutical, medical, food industry, optical, microelectronic or aerospace laboratories.
ESD work chairs: ESD chairs protect you, your products and workplace equipment from electrostatic discharges. Every normal chair is a minor source of electrical charge which can occur through movement by the person or the work chair with castors, for example when sliding on synthetic flooring. For this reason, in ESD areas all work chairs, work stools or standing supports must be conductive and have ESD protection. An ESD work chair ensures charge-free working in all manner of laboratory, micro- or semiconductor electronics fields.
Arthrodesis chairs: an arthrodesis chair is designed for persons with impaired mobility suffering from various hip or leg problems. These include persons with hip replacements or leg amputations or with different leg lengths. The seat area of arthrodesis chairs is specially moulded and these chairs are considered as orthopaedic aids and work chairs. Through the split seat, the seat halves can be individually adjusted and allow selective lowering of the legs or hip. In this way the user can largely avoid bending his or her leg when sitting.
